Laura (Latham) Dabbs

Mrs. Laura Latham Dabbs, age 83, wife of Olin Dabbs of 203 South Second St., Lockhart, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Dabbs was born January 18, 1938, in Union, a daughter of the late John David Latham and Ella Mae Jones Latham.  She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and was retired from Torrington & Co. and had worked as Ward Secretary at Wallace Thomson Hospital.  Mrs. Dabbs was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church where she had been Youth Director for many years, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and helped with Children's Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Michelle Brannon and husband Lee and Sherri Turner and husband Tim all of Lockhart; a son, Olin Keith Dabbs, Jr. of the home; six grandchildren, including a special grandson, Jason Brannon of Lockhart, Ethan Turner of Alaska, Victoria Garrett of Union, Zachary Turner, Justin Brannon, and Abigail Brannon all of Lockhart; and four great-grandchildren, Wesley Turner, Sterling Turner, Henry Turner, and Greyson Garrett.  She was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sam Baine and Rev. Dr. Tommy Bryson.  Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Brannon, Justin Brannon, Zack Turner, Lonnie Wilbanks, Wayne Baldwin, and Sam Baine, Jr.  The following are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort, the Ladies Auxiliary of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church, the Mother's Class One, the nurses and staff of Kindred Hospice and Amber Jennings.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church, 126 Askew Circle, Union, SC 29379.

The family is at the home, 203 South Second St., Lockhart, SC 29364.
