Leonard Carl “Bud” Broom

February 13, 2016 Mr. Leonard Carl "Bud" Broom, age 61, husband of Beth Wilkins Broom of 202 Hart Street, Union, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at his home. Mr. Broom was born in Camden, SC on August 3, 1954 to the late LC and Mary Laughridge Broom. He retired from J.P. Stevens and as Department Manager at Renfro of Whitmire, SC. He is of the Baptist Faith and a life member of the Roseboro Masonic Lodge #195 of Whitmire. Mr. Broom was an avid USC Gamecock fan. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, April Upton and husband Chad of Greenville, Amanda Seals and husband Chris of Fountain Inn, SC, Kelly Crowe and husband Rev. Samuel J. Crowe of Charleston; six grandchildren, Caleb Seals and Ian Seals of Fountain Inn, Noah Crowe and Macie Crowe of Charleston and Dillon Smith and Audrey Smith of Union; two sisters, Nancy Broom and fiancée Max Lovelace of Great Falls and Katherine Roberson and husband Gary of Clover; two nieces, Vicki Ferguson and husband Jared and Stacy Johnson and husband Jon of Rock Hill; one nephew, Landon Johnson of Rock Hill; a cousin, Trina Vinson and a brother-in-law, Bob Wilkins and wife Brenda of Union. Mr. Broom was predeceased by a daughter, Tousha Smith. Graveside memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Samuel Crowe with Masonic Rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund or Debt Reduction Fund of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinckney Street, Union, SC 29379 or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 537 Long Point Rd., Suite 203, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464-8281. The family is at the home, 202 Hart Street, Union.
