Leroy “Hank” Frost

Mr. Leroy "Hank" Frost, age 88, of Buffalo, SC, widower of Lillie Mae Harris Frost, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg. Mr. Frost was born in Union, March 11, 1931, a son of the late Arthur R. Malpass and Pearl Frost McGowan. He was retired from Torrington and previously worked with Milliken. He was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. He was a well-known musician and singer and enjoyed singing at several of the local opera houses in Union county. Surviving are a daughter, Louise Frost of Joanna; a son, Dennis Frost and wife, Leesa, of Union; three sisters, Lucy Puckett and husband Arthur, of Union, Peggy Garner and husband Wayne of Union, and Sadie Sumner and husband Roger, of Buffalo; two brothers, J.W. McGowan, Jr. and wife Bobbie of Union and Jack McGowan of Anaheim, California; two step-daughters, Brenda Belue of Union and Sandy Wade and husband Joe, of Union; two grandchildren, Tina Frost and Michelle F. Easler; a two step-grandchildren, Melissa Risher and Brian Hill; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Frost was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Helton and Betty Jean McGowan and three brothers, Arthur Frost, Ted McGowan and Bobby McGowan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2019 at S. R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Duncan Acres United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Union, S.C. 29379. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice Care of South Carolina and White Oak Manor of Spartanburg. The family will be at their respective homes.
