Lewis D. Brackins

Mr. Lewis D. Brackins, age 75, of 105 Walker St. Union, widower of Emma Cannon Brackins, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Heartland of Union. Mr. Brackins was born in Pacolet, March 18, 1940, a son of the late Joseph and Marie Schultz Brackins. He was retired from J.P. Stevens, Whitmire Plant and was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Kim Marler and fiancée Thomas Foley of Union; a granddaughter, Angel Sizemore of Union; three sisters, Elizabeth Spencer and Margaret Thompson both of Pacolet and Joyce Spencer of Spartanburg; and two brothers, Doyle Brackins of Greenwood and David Brackins of Union. Mr. Brackins was predeceased by a sister, Frankie Quinn and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, November 6, 2015 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Lindsey Cannon, Roy Brackins, Brian Brackins, Dennis Tucker, Wilson Brackins and Donnie Warren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Lewis D. Brackins Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Kim Marler, 107 Walker Heights, Union.
