Lewis Smith Hembree

Mr. Lewis Smith Hembree age 77 of 1310 Watson Rd., Enoree, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hembree was born in Enoree, October 11, 1937, a son of the late W.C. and Beulah Smith Hembree. He was a retired auto mechanic and a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Hembree was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a step-daughter, Sue Pelham and husband Dexter of the home; three grandchildren, Malissa Jolly and husband Matt of Spartanburg, Stacy Pelham Addis and Gerald Pelham, Jr. both of Jonesville. Mr. Hembree was predeceased by a sister, Edna Hembree, a brother, William Hembree and a special friend, Myrtle Keith. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2015 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Wayne Cooke. Burial will be at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cross Anchor. Active pallbearers will be Gerald Pelham, Matt Jolly, Danny Parham, Rick Hembree, Doug Scarborough, and Mack Lancaster. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Addis, 305 Fairview St., Jonesville.
