Lewis Dean Martin

Mr. Lewis Dean Martin, age 73, husband of Regina Robinson Martin of 138 Walden Circle, Spartanburg, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Martin was born in Union, September 13, 1951, a son of the late James Welford Martin and Emily Gore Martin. He was a 1969 graduate of Jonesville High School, received a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and a master's degree from Clemson University. He retired after 25 years from the US Postal Service. Mr. Martin was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Spartanburg where he a member of the Sanctuary Choir, the Golden Tones, Handbells Choir, the Clarion Sound, the Morningside Missions Committee and had served as a deacon. His love for music extended to his being a founding member of the Upstate Men's Choir and barbershop quartet singing. Mr. Martin also loved being involved in theater and any kind of crafting activity.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years are two sons, Jonathan Martin and wife Carrie of Spartanburg and James Martin and wife Julie of Greenville; two grandsons, Seth Martin and special friend, Cheyenne and Aaron Martin and a granddaughter, Maddie Logan. He was predeceased by a daughter, Erin Martin and a brother, Ricky Lee Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brandon Malone, Rev. Laura White and Rev. Robert Mitchell. Burial will follow at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesville.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the church prior to the services.

Members of the Morningside Fellowship Class are asked to sit in a group.
