Lewis Gault Union, Sc

Mr. Lewis Gault, age 64, husband of Carol Owenby Gault of 1985 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy, Union, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mr. Gault was born in Whitmire, SC on April 22, 1950 a son of the late Aron "Sonny" Gault and Myrtle Walker Gault. He was a 1969 graduate of Whitmire High School. Mr. Gault had previously worked at Cone Mill - Carlisle Finishing Plant and Santee Print Works in Sumter, SC, but had retired from ChemTrade Logistics Leeds Plant in 2007. He was a life member of Roseboro Lodge - 195 of Whitmire, a member of the Hejaz Shriners where he participated in the Hillbilly Clan #2. Mr. Gault was a volunteer fireman - under Chief Joe Simpson in Whitmire and also worked with Whitmire Rescue Squad under Leader Ordie Campbell. He was also involved in helping start the Whitmire Coon Hunters Association with the late David Couch. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Julie E. Hueble of Whitmire; a step-daughter, April D. Nichols and husband Bobby of Spartanburg; three brothers, Homer and wife Cindy of Texas, Aaron and wife Sandra of Clinton, SC, and Jerry and wife Donna of Whitmire; four grandchildren, Daniel and Elaina Hueble of Whitmire and Bobby Ray and Allison Nichols of Spartanburg. Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale, and Rev. Kenny Weaver. Burial followed at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were Ronnie Garner, Terry Garner, Dennis Davis, David McKee, Larry Evans and friends. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Davis, Gary Wilbanks, Randy Spencer, Butch Starnes, and Dr. Robert Yannetti. Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Hejaz Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 667, Mauldin, SC 29662 or to Philippi Baptist Church, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family was at the home, 1985 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union.
