Lewis Coleman White

Pacolet

Mr. Lewis Coleman White of Pacolet, South Carolina went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 6, 2020 at the age of 84.  He is survived by his sister Patty Hoyle of Pacolet and Doris White of Jonesville.  He is also survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Katrina Lynn-Jirik White (Snider) and two granddaughters, Abygail Lynn-Jirik Snider and Samantha Louise-Jirik Snider of Florida as well as many nieces and nephews  He is predeceased by his mother, Eva and Clyde White and his sisters and brothers:  Thomas C., Keith, Marguerite, Lee Ila, Evelyn, and Mildred.  Lewis White grew up in Jonesville and graduated from Jonesville High School in May 1954.  He registered for the Navy Reserves in December 1, 1953.  Lewis attended Spartanburg Junior College and the Greensboro, N.C. Division of Guilford College and graduated from The School of Banking of the South (LSU) on June 1, 1973.

Mr. White began his career at The Bank of Hollywood Hills as an Assistant Cashier in 1970.  Lewis was the employee of the year with Southeast Bank in 1976.  He was promoted to Senior Vice President and Financial Management and Control Department in 1981. Lewis continued to work for Southeast Bank for over 25 years and became Vice President/Branch Manager when Southeast merged with First Union Bank.  Lewis retired from First Union National Bank of Florida in mid-1990's.  He returned to his home state of South Carolina to be near his family and many friends.  He was an active member of the Lion's Club in Pacolet.  Lewis loved meeting his friends at Hardee's at 9am and 2pm for a cup of coffee and a burger.  Lewis was a kind-hearted man and respected by many in the financial sector and loved dearly by his family.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Spartanburg Regional Foundation:  Gibbs-Spartanburg Lab Fund (www.regionalfoundation.com). Services will be held at New Hope Methodist Church in Jonesville by Rev. Steven King and Rev. Dr. James Ivey on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 2pm.
