Lewis M. Woolen

Mr. Lewis Marvin Woolen, age 87, widower of Kathleen Jones Woolen of 100 Wingfield Dr., Union, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday June 14, 2015. Mr. Woolen was born in Union, March 3, 1928, a son of the late Sandy A. Woolen and Willie Pearl Crocker Woolen. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant. Mr. Woolen was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he served as a former Deacon. He was an avid softball fan and an excellent player. Surviving are two daughters, Sheryl W. Crocker and husband David and Jan W. McCallister all of Moore; and a granddaughter, Gina Shipp and husband Allen of Wellford. Mr. Woolen was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Palmer and three brothers, Oren Woolen, Elvin Woolen and Paul Woolen. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Mr. William Earl Sprouse. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services. Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home 100 Wingfield Dr., Union.
