Lillian L. Cabaniss

June 27, 1924 — April 5, 2014

Mrs. Lillian Loveday Cabaniss, age 89, widow of Buford Cabaniss, formerly of North 3rd St., Lockhart, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center in Laurens. Mrs. Cabaniss was born in Lockhart, June 27, 1924, a daughter of the late Loyd and Deemie Ball Loveday. She was a proud high school graduate, a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Cabaniss was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family, music and dancing. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a son, Allen Cabaniss and wife, Elizabeth of Union; a granddaughter, Tonya Marie Foster and husband Richard of Pauline; a step-grandson, Joe Adams, III of Union; and two great-grandsons, Hunter and Peyton Foster. Mrs. Cabaniss was predeceased by two sisters, Lona Crocker and Lou Cudd; and four brothers, Glenn, Burl, Arb, and Johnny Loveday. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Delos Blanton. Burial will be at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chester. Visitation will be held from Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Donnie Burgess, Richard Foster, Earl Crocker, Ivan Loveday, Jimmy Kingsmore and Arnold Childers. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Martha Franks who became Mrs. Cabaniss' extended family during her time there. Memorials may be made to Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, 1 Martha Franks Dr., Laurens, SC 29360. The family will be at the home of her son, Allen and Elizabeth Cabaniss, 4455 Lockhart Hwy., Union.
