Lillian R. Shetley

Mrs. Lillian Faye Rose Shetley, age 79, husband of Don Shetley of 105 Benjamin St., Union, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Union Medical Center. Mrs. Shetley was born in Cherokee, NC, April 29, 1936, a daughter of Elsie Rodger Rose Kimsey of Cherokee and the late Wayne Rose. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Union, receiving an Associate Degree in Art Studies. Mrs. Shetley worked alongside her husband at Allstate Insurance Agency for many years. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was also a full member of the Eastern Cherokee Tribe of North Carolina. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Donna Faye Shetley and husband John D. Karvelas of Spartanburg; a son, Don Raye Shetley and wife Jennifer of Union; two sisters, Freda Wright and Wanda Weldon of Cherokee, NC; two granddaughters, Sarah Evans Shetley and Lilly Frances Shetley both of Union. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Chapman. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Ryan Bradly, Stacey Jones, John Gregory, Sam White, Tommy Anthony and Frankie Alexander. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Debt Reduction Fund, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 105 Benjamin St., Union.
