Mrs. Linda Shetley Williams, age 72, wife of Claudie H. Williams, Jr., of 627 Brown's Creek Church Rd., Union, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Union Medical Center.

Mrs. Williams was born in Union, November 27, 1949, a daughter of the late Lester L. "Bud" Shetley and Ada Ellis Shetley. She had retired from Conso Products and had volunteered for many years at Monarch Elementary School. Mrs. Williams was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She previously served as a GA Leader, a nursery worker and had served on the Benevolence Committee. Mrs. Williams was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose only desire was to have a big family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Crystal Roper of Union; two sons, Mark Williams and wife Trixie of Union and Jamie Williams and wife Jackie of Maggie Valley, NC; two sisters, Stella Quinn of Jonesville, and Ruth Crayne of Union; a brother, Stewart "Buddy" Shetley and wife Betty of Union and a sister-in-law, Brenda Shetley of Union. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Keith Williams and wife Erica, Josh Williams and wife Monica, Taylor Millwood and husband Dylan, Ashley Cudd and husband Caleb, Lindsay Vaughan and Lila Reynolds; 15 great-grandchildren and three lifelong special friends, Lynn Ivey, Sandra Moss and Gail Betenbaugh all of Union. She was predeceased by a sister, Jettie Johnson and a brother, Robert Shetley.

The family wishes to say a special Thank You to Linda's lifelong caregiver and friend Dr. David Keith and to Mark Reynolds and the staff of Union Medical Center for their care and compassion shown to Linda and her family during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Williams, Josh Williams, Caleb Cudd, Dylan Millwood, Ben Ivey, Kevin Shetley, Phil Crayne and Billy Morris.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home of her son, Mark and Trixie Williams, 838 Meansville Rd., Union.
