Mrs. Lois Louise Gregory Sanders, age 96, of 117 Partridge Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Lee Sanders for 71 years, and Grandmother not only to her family but to all who knew her.

Mrs. Sanders was born in Union, November 18, 1926, a daughter of the late George H. Gregory, Sr. and Lois Bevis Gregory. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. Her family was her most precious possession, cooking for all to gather in a home filled with love and kindness. Granny, as all called her, was the Atlanta Brave's biggest fan and she kept stats on the team in her notebook. She was always there for the kids who played baseball with her grandson. She even carried some as far as Florida for a tournament.

Granny will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. "We love you Granny".

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by two daughters, Linda Roark and husband Broadus, and Wanda Fleming and husband Mickey; a son, Thomas Keith Sanders and wife Denise all of Union; grandchildren, Randall Roark and wife Kelly, Layton Roark, Chris Fleming and wife Kristin, Michael Fleming and Jeremy Sanders; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Fleming, Bryson Fleming, Adam Sinclair, Gracelyn Roark, Connor Fleming, Amanda Roark, Austin Roark and Ashlyn Roark, two great-great grandchildren, Bennett Henderson and Clayton Roark; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters, Doris Damewood, Flossie Whiting, Betty Boulware, Mary Outz, and Sarah Kvalheim, and two brothers, Mose Gregory and George H. Gregory, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer and Chaplain Ronnie Norris.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Randall Roark, Layton Roark, Chris Fleming, Terry Wayne Whiting, Gary West and Wayne Garner.

The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Sandra West, Becky McAbee, Brittany Gardin, Cindy Pettit, Ray Booth, Speedy Ward, Keith Gault, Roger and Judy Bailey, Joyce Parris and Barbara Garner.

The family will be at the home, 117 Partridge Rd., Union.
