August 5, 2016 Mrs. Lois Howell Vaughan, age 83 of 129 S. 1st St., Lockhart, widow of Hayes F. Vaughan passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Union Medical Center. Mrs. Vaughan was born in Lockhart, SC on February 4, 1933 a daughter of the late Raymond Howell and Sadie Dabbs Howell. She retired from Conso Products and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mrs. Vaughan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are three daughters, Gloria Cabaniss and husband Jackie of Sylvester, GA, Renee Ruggles and Ronnie of Greer, and Beth Cromer of Union; one son, Ray Vaughan and wife Cheryl Vaughan of Chapin; a special friend, Pat Gibson of Lockhart; seven grandchildren, Tony Cabaniss, Angel Cabaniss Baker, Andrea Dunbar, Daniel Vaughan, Brad Latham, Matthew Latham, and Gabrielle Cromer; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Carter Cabaniss. She was predeceased by one great-grandson, Joshua Pritchett, one brother, Guy Howell, two sisters, Louise Cabaniss and Laura Roberts. Funeral Services will be held, 2:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brian Redding and Rev. Jackie Cabaniss. Active pallbearers will be Brad Latham, Matthew Latham, Tony Cabaniss, Tommy Cabaniss, Jeff Roberts, and Daniel Dunbar. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church, 327 Philippi Church Road, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her daughter, Beth Cromer 852 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Union, SC 29379.
