Lou Kimbrell Posey

Mrs. Ann Lou Kimbrell Posey age 59, wife of William Walker "Bill" Posey of 617 Hawkins Rd., Union, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Posey was born in Union, January 12, 1962, a daughter of Ann Smith Kimbrell of Union and the late James Eugene Kimbrell. Lou was a 1980 graduate of Union High School where she was an outstanding athlete. She graduated Limestone College with a BA degree in Psychology and Social Work. She worked for the S.C. Department of Social Services and later for the Charles Lea Center in Spartanburg. Lou was an integral part of establishing Hospice Care of South Carolina in Union County. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a sister, Cindy K. Fore and husband Steve of Union; two step-sons, John Posey of Spartanburg and Tim Posey of Greenville; two nieces, Jamie F. Bowers and husband Kevin of Moore and Jenna Lea Fore of Union; a great-nephew, Charles F. "Chaz" Bowers; a sister-in-law, Nancy P. Hughes and husband Doug of Spartanburg and Cynthia P. Jennings of Knoxville, TN; a brother-in-law, Tom Posey and wife Mara of Cumming, GA and several other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Mark Foster. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
