Louvenia S. West

Mrs. Louvenia Smith West, age 86, of 1416 Santuc-Carlisle Hwy., Union, widow of Walter C. "Buck" West, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mrs. West was born in Anderson, August 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Bessie Smith. She retired from Torrington Co., Tyger River Plant and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Carter and husband Ronnie and a son, Billy West and wife Sheena all of Union; a sister, Margaret Underwood of N. Augusta; a brother, Billy Smith of McPherson, KS; three grandchildren, Chris West and wife Jennifer, Jana Manasco and husband Cody and Matthew Carter and wife Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Bentley Riggs West, Drew Manasco and Hayden Lawson; and two nephews, Randy Underwood and wife Debbie of Aiken and Joe Underwood and wife Dianne of Clearwater. Mrs. West was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Wayne Davis, Randy Underwood, Joe Underwood, Van Garner, Robin Arnold and Cody Manasco. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her son, Billy and Sheena West, 1408 Santuc-Carlisle Hwy., Union.
