Lucile Fowler Smith

Mrs. Lucile Fowler Smith, age 92, of 201 Forest St., Jonesville, widow of Gilbert Smith, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. Smith was born February 16, 1928 in Jonesville, a daughter of the late Durvin F. Fowler and Evie Miller Fowler.  She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from J.P. Stevens and Oakmont Nursing Home of Union.  Mrs. Smith was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Durvin Gilbert "Smitty" Smith and wife Beverly of Jonesville; a grandson, Taylor Smith of Wilmington, NC; and three sisters, Peggy Joyce Smith of Charlotte, Sandra Roberts of Jonesville, and Kay Vinson of Union.  She was predeceased by three sisters, Kathleen Fowler, Faye Harvey, and Lynn O'Shields and two brothers, Grady Cole Fowler and James A. Fowler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cannon.  Burial will follow at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith's nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.

The family would like to a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Kindred Hospice and Mrs. Smith's caregivers for their love and care shown to her and her family.
