Lucy H. Stone

September 30, 2016 Mrs. Lucy Ann Harris Stone, age 88, wife of Melvin B. Stone of 406 Wilson St., Union, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Union Medical Center. Mrs. Stone was born in Union, July 4, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph Moody Harris and Julia Palmer Harris. She was a retired caregiver at the former Union County Nursing Home and a caregiver for all her brothers, sisters, and parents. Mrs. Stone was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. Surviving are a son, Stan Gallman and wife Karen; a daughter, Pam G. Cavender and husband Danny all of Union; two grandchildren, Brandi G. Weaver and Nikki C. Harris both of Union; two step-daughters, Angie Stevens and Patsy Stone both of Whitmire; two great-grandchildren, Dylan J. Weaver and Luke Harris. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. Mrs. Stone was predeceased by three sisters, Roxie Garner, Bertha "Pert" McCoy, and Madge Bank Belue; and three brothers, Marshall Harris, J.M. Harris and Willie Harris. The family wishes to express their gratitude and love to her husband, Melvin B. Stone during her time of need. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Walker and Rev. Glen Ribelin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The following nephews will serve as active pallbearers, Wayne Belue, Larry Belue, Dennis Belue, Neil Belue, Bruce McCoy and Steve McCoy. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Paving Fund, 1622 Kelly Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Pam and Danny Cavender, 291 Hidden Forest Dr., Union.
