Mabel Riggs Harris

Mrs. Mabel Riggs Harris, widow of Roy S. Harris, formerly of Santuc, passed away December 21, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. Mrs. Harris, a daughter of the late Oscar and Daisy Riggs, was born in Union on July 11, 1921. She was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, Whitmire Plant and a member of Salem Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons in law, Kathy and Bill Horne and JoAnne and Jim Gregory, all of Roebuck; a daughter in law, Sandra T. Harris of Greenville, SC; four granddaughters, LuAnn Harris of Greenville, SC, Kelli H. Mesardjian and husband Chris of Simpsonville, Renee Seay, and Amy Bradshaw and husband Bob all of Roebuck; three great-grandsons, Brandon Seay, Alex Bradshaw, and Cayden Mesardjian; a sister, Shirley Sams and husband Larry of York; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Harold E. Harris and Gerald W. Harris and a brother, Charles Leroy Riggs. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Salem Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Wiseman and Rev. Wayne Cooke. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Francis "Bunk" Crocker, Chuck McGaha, Craig Senn, Harold Senn, Mike Senn, and Nick Sexton. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1835 Tinker Creek Road, Union, SC 29379 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at their respective homes.
