Mrs. Mabel Bailey Longshore Campbell, age 85, of 450 Beatty's Bridge Rd., Union, formerly of 136 Burmaster St., Inman, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Campbell was the widow of Clifford J. Campbell and was first marred to the late Floyd L. Longshore. She was born in the Sardis community of Union Co., May 17, 1932, a daughter of the late George B. Bailey and Ethel Young Bailey. She retired from Milliken and Co. after 45 years having worked at the Ottaray Plant and the Research center in Spartanburg. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Jehovah's Witness association and was active until her health failed. She enjoyed growing flowers, bird watching, traveling, her cats, crocheting and reading her Bible until her sight failed her. Surviving are two sisters: Dolly B. Leitner of Blackstock and Ann B. Sanders and husband J.B. of Union; two special nieces, Merrie S. Bailey with whom she made her home and Pennie S. Duckett who helped with her care; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Bailey and Longshore families. Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by a son, Dennis Ray Longshore, two sisters, Louise B. Trakas and Frances B. Nelson and two brothers, James R. Bailey and Fred R. Bailey. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the nurses and staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for the care give to Mrs. Campbell during her time there. Graveside services will be held 5:00 PM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Brother Joe Adams. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to a charity of one's choice.
