Mable S. Tucker

Mrs. Mabel S. Tucker, age 77, of 214 Catawba St., Union, widow of Rion Tucker passed away, Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Tucker was born in Union, SC on October 14, 1938 a daughter of the late Henry T. Sprouse and Irene Nance Sprouse. She was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Circle. Mrs. Tucker was retired from United Merchants Union Plant. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Voiselle of the home; a sister, Jo Ann Lawson of Pauline; a grandson, Roy T. Lawson, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Christopher R. Lawson, Alexis Holland, Tannah M. Willard, and Nathan Ty Willard; and a beloved pet pechinese, Chee-Chee. She was predeceased by three sisters, Betty Jean Ponder, Frances Tucker, and Lena Sprouse and two brothers, Henry Earl Sprouse and Harold Dean Sprouse. Funeral services will be held, 3:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Phillip Chandler. Burial will follow in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Tucker's nephews, Darrell Lawson, David Lawson, Rickey Sprouse, Brian Gardin, Jarad Gardin, and William Earl Sprouse. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Maxie Ray Ponder and Phillip Sprouse. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday prior to the services at the church. The family wishes to extend a special "Thank you" to the staff and nurses of Gentiva Hospice for the love and care of Mrs. Tucker during her illness.
