Mrs. Mae Johnson Puckett, age 90, widow of Donald A. Puckett, Sr., of 227 Vernon Foster Rd., Union, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, December 8, 2023.
Mrs. Puckett was born in Knoxville, TN, June 4, 1933, a daughter of the late John T. and Ella Benson Johnson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She retired from the Union County School Food Service and was a member of New Life Baptist Church where she sang in the choir as long as her health permitted. She loved her Lord, her church family, and her pastors.
Surviving are a son, Donald "Donnie" Puckett, and wife Debbie of Boiling Springs; a step-daughter, Donna P. Cudd and husband David of Union; a step-son, Dwight Puckett and wife Sandy of Seymour, TN; two sisters-in-law, Betty Tollison of Fort Mill and Eugenia Johnson of TN and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Pat Johnson of TN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two special grandchildren, Candice Cudd Hardiman and husband Jeff and Jonathan D. Cudd and wife Brooke, and four special great-grandchildren, Will Hardiman, Hallie Hardiman, Annabelle Cudd, and Brooks Cudd. She also leaves behind special friends, Pearl Crocker, Patsy Littlejohn, Gladys Henderson, Rosa Lee Thomas and Joretta Hyatt. Mrs. Puckett was predeceased by a step-son, Dale Puckett, a daughter-in-law, Mitzi Puckett, three sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2023 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Rev. Todd Davis. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the services. Burial will follow at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ron Tollison, Kendall Austin, Neil McKeown, Jonathan Cudd, Ronnie Jones and Jeff Hardiman.
The following are asked to sit in a group, Nancy Long, Pearl Crocker, Mike and Della Benson, Jane and Gibby Arthur, Nanette Jenkins, Pat Cantrell, Pam and Stanley Elliott, Cindy Ivey and Linda Tucker.

The family will be at the home of Donna and David Cudd, 245 Vernon Foster Rd., Union.
