Malinda Kay Vaughan

April 30, 2017 Mrs. Malinda "Kay" Gowan Vaughan, age 70 of Jonesville, SC passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017. Mrs. Vaughan was born and raised in Pacolet, SC, the daughter of the late Stewart and Johnnie Smith Gowan. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-three years, Francis Earl "Buddy" Vaughan. Also surviving are a daughter, Angela and husband Dwain Knighton of Gaffney; a sister, Judy Hatfield of Midland, TX; a brother, Bobby Gowan, Sr., of Conyers, GA. Kay was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Gowan. Mrs. Vaughan retired from Michelin and was a lifetime, dedicated member of Jonesville Baptist Church. She was an active member of Happy Hearts and the WMU. Mrs. Vaughan was also active in her community. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon and Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will be in Jonesville Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Michael Vaughan, Darrell Eaves, Eric Eaves, James Harris, William Jolly and Gage Eaves. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
