Margaret “Tutti” Sheorn

Mrs. Margaret Smith "Tutti" Sheorn, age 92, of 108 Eastwood Ave., Union, widow of Wiley "Buddy" Sheorn, Jr., passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Sheorn was born in Union, February 15, 1927, a daughter of the late Douglas James and Nina Sexton Smith. She graduated from Union High School and Limestone College where she majored in Social Work. She retired from Union County Schools and was very involved in the lives of her students many of whom were special needs. Following her father's death she and her family carried on the family business, Smith Lumber Company. Mrs. Sheorn was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Union Cotillion Club, Critierion Book Club and enjoyed being a member of several bridge clubs. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was an active member of David Clyburn Sunday School Class. Mrs. Sheorn's children and grandchildren feel blessed to have had Tutti's physical love and support. Now they feel blessed to have her spiritual presence watching over them. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Patrylick and husband, Jerry of Durham, NC; a son, Wiley "Trip" Sheorn, III and wife, Betsy of Union; four granddaughters, Megan Patrylick Mathis and husband, Madison of Charleston, Amy Brannon and husband, Michael, of Durham, NC, Taylor Patrylick of Durham, NC, Caroline Snijders and husband, Eric of Columbia; a grandson, Drew Sheorn and wife, Lauren of Kannapolis, NC; a great-great granddaughter, Blythe Sheorn and a great-great grandson, Beau Sheorn. She was predeceased by a son, Doug Sheorn and a brother, Doug Smith, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. David Bauknight. Visitation will follow the service in the Ladies Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Union, P.O.
