Margie D. Burgess

Mrs. Margie Donnels Burgess, age 65 wife of Terry Burgess, Sr. of 496 Putman Rd., Buffalo, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at her home.

Mrs. Burgess was born in Spartanburg, SC January 21, 1958, a daughter of the late George Grimm Donnels and Grace Adams Donnels.  She attended Putman Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and wonderful person. Mrs. Burgess was loved by so many.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 38 years are a son, Terry "Billy" Burgess and wife, Ashley of Buffalo; a daughter, Angela Greer and husband, Al of Union; brother, Frank Donnels and wife, Mary of St. George; grandchildren, Terry Burgess, III, Cody Greer and Alexa Lankford and husband, Cody; 2 great grandchildren; 2 special sons, Chris Ingle and William Mosley and wife Tracy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Lucy Matthews and Donna Cooper; and 4 brothers, Bud Donnels, Roy Donnels, Ray Donnels and Phillip Donnels.

The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Crescent Hospice for their care of Mrs. Burgess during her illness.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 6, 2023 at Putman Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Shelton and Rev. Donald Tillman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Josh Bevis, Dylan Lawson, Daniel Revis, Gene Revis, Max Revis and Donald Babb. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Sanders, Johnny Sanders, Michael Lawson, Bill Lawson, Steve Freeman and Albert and Connie Barnado.

Mrs. Burgess will be carried to her home Sunday, March 5, 2023 where the family will receive friends after 5:00 PM.
