Margie L. Hawkins

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Margie Hawkins will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the services. Services will be conducted by Pastor, Randy Smith.

Mrs. Margie Lawson Hawkins, age 91, of Seigler Rd., Union, widow of Burley Hawkins, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at her home.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Union, March 4, 1933, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Annie Mae Linder Lawson. She was a graduate of Union High School and had retired from Milliken and Co. Research Center in Spartanburg. Mrs. Hawkins enjoyed doing crafts, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was first married to the late Judson Collins Phillips. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church of Union.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Phillips and wife Harriett of Spartanburg and Marty Phillips and husband Chris Podmore of Charleston; three grandchildren, Rosemary Williams and husband Mark of Charleston, Tyler Phillips and wife Jeanette of Ocean Isle, NC and Barry Phillips and wife Elizabeth of Spartanburg, and great grandchildren, Lilly Phillips, Eliza Phillips, Henry Phillips and Jack Phillips. She is also survived by Lesley (Lulu) Austin, a long-time family friend and caregiver of the home.
