Marie J. Lawson

October 28, 2016 Mrs. Marie Jackson Lawson, age 83 of 923 Standard St., Rock Hill, widow of Robert W. Lawson, Sr., passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Lawson was born in Mayesville, SC, November 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Clarence E. Jackson and Matie Lee Jackson. She was a graduate of Ashwood High School and retired from real estate as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill. Surviving are a daughter, Lois El Idrissi of the home; two sons, Robert W. Lawson, Jr. and wife Carol of Union and Timothy Wayne Lawson and wife Teresa of Rock Hill; three sisters, Mildred Brown of Sumter, Eleanor Wyrick and husband Darrell of Bishopville and Patricia Phillips and husband Claude of Kershaw; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by a daughter, Eunice Johnson; a sister, Virginia Davis and four brothers, Leroy, C.E., Jr., Buddy and Billy Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church, 3206 Cross Keys Hwy., Union, SC 29379, conducted by Rev. Tony Slawson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Lawson, Jonathan Lawson, Christopher Lawson, Joshua Willard, Adam El Idrissi and Frankie Caughman Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of the church prior the services.
