Marie Smith

Ms. Marie Smith, age 89, 508 Linersville Rd, Buffalo, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 11, 2025 at her home.

Ms. Smith was born in Buffalo, July 26, 1936, the daughter of the late Ladson E. Smith and Chloi Lee Smith. She was a 1954 graduate of Union High School and graduated the School of X-Ray, Columbia Hospital that is part of the University of South Carolina. She retired from Wallace Thompson Hospital as a Registered Radiology Technician and later retired from the SC Dept. of Public Heath. Ms. Smith was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and was an avid Gamecock fan.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is survived by a special niece, Terry Tuminello and husband Mike of Myrtle Beach; a special great niece, Crystal Tuminello Rosa and husband Rafael of Greer; and cousins, Joyce Larimore and Harriett Goforth. She is also survived by close friends, Debbie Staton, Cindy Wood, and Justin and Stacy Addis. Ms. Smith was predeceased by a brother, Ted S. Smith and wife Alma Jean Smith, a nephew, Charles E. Smith and a great niece Sophia Diana Rosa.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Doug Estes. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Care Group, 706 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.

The family will be at the home, 508 Linersville Rd., Buffalo.
