Marilyn Rene “Bussie” Arthur

January 28, 2019 Ms. Marilyn Rene "Bussie" Arthur, age 65, of 306 Lowry St., Union, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Ms. Arthur was born December 22, 1953 in Union, a daughter of Lucille Porter Moss and the late Barnett Gist. She was a 1972 graduate of Union High School and was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church. Ms. Arthur was devoted to her family and enjoyed gardening and caring for her animals, especially her lab, Bella. Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, Zachary Arthur and wife Leigh Anne of Union; a sister Janet Lawson and husband Jimmy of Union; and two grandsons, Ross and Isaac Arthur. She was predeceased by a sister, Dianne Palmer Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ross Arthur, Curtis Eubanks, Mike Anderson, Jared Anderson, Brad Harris, and Randy Johnson. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, C/O Building Fund, 1431 Lockhart Hwy., Union SC 29379. The family is at the home of her son, Zachary and Leigh Anne Arthur, 1722 Santuc-Carlisle Hwy., Union, SC 29379.
