Mrs. Marjorie Louise McBride Fairfax Hart, age 95, wife of Russell "Speck" Hart of Spartanburg, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at her home.

Mrs. Hart was born in Cadiz, KY, April 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Hugh Noble McBride, Sr. and Onie Berkley McBride. She retired from the City of Spartanburg as executive secretary for the Public Information Office. Mrs. Hart was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was first married to the late Franklin L. Fairfax.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Patti Fairfax Jenkins of Inman and Susan Fairfax Lawson of Pauline; two stepsons, Larry Hart and wife Mickie of Moore and Ed Hart and wife Laura of Clayton, GA; three grandchildren, Garry Lawson Jr., Bob Lawson and Ashley Lawson Robinson; four step grandchildren, Russell Hart, Catherine Castro, Matt Hart, and Shane Hart and sixteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by eight siblings; Jack McBride, James McBride, George McBride, Ruby Taylor, Pauline Hunter, Lula Byrd, Erline Hargrove and Hugh Noble McBride, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2023 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Andrew Wolfe. Visitation will be held immediately following the services in the church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
