Mark V. Dickinson

Mr. Mark Virgil Dickinson, age 77, husband of Kathryn Gault Dickinson of 131 York St., Chester, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the MUSC Chester Medical Center.

Mr. Dickinson was born in Pender, Nebraska, August 20, 1947, a son of the late Rev. Virgil Claude Dickinson and Madeline LaBeau Dickinson. He was a graduate of South Eugene High School and the University of Oregon. He received his Master's Degree from Boston University. Mr. Dickinson was a retired veteran of the US Army. He was also a computer consultant and owner of Diamond Management Security Company.

Mr. Dickinson was a member of Chester ARP Presbyterian Church where he was a former usher. He was a former Mason and member of the Rotary Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife Kathy of 50 years are a daughter, Ashley Dickinson Porter and husband James Paul Porter, Esq. of Columbia; two sons, Mark David Dickinson of Greenville and Matthew Coleman Dickinson, Esq. and wife Jhoana Dickinson of Atlanta, GA; and a sister, Linda Dickinson Kimbell and husband Jerry of Portland, OR. He is also survived by two grandchildren, James Paul "Jack" Porter, Jr. and Luke Julian Dickinson.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 21, 2025 at Chester ARP Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Clint Davis. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Union.

Visitation will be held Monday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at the church prior to the services.
