Mark T. Pettit, Sr.

June 17, 2015 Mr. Mark Thomas Pettit, Sr., age 59 of 143 Old English Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday June 16, 2015 at Heartland of Union. Mr. Pettit was born in Kalamazoo, MI, January 11, 1956, a son of the late Robert Cleveland Pettit and Rose Adeline Allen Pettit. He was a 1974 graduate of Parchment High School in Kalamazoo and was formerly employed as a warehouse manager. Mr. Pettit was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Mark Pettit, II of the home, Robert Pettit and wife Jessica of Spartanburg and Timothy Oswalt of Union; a daughter, Miranda Reynolds of the home; a sister, Linda Pettit of Union; three brothers, Steven Pettit and wife Debra, John Pettit and wife Judy and Brian Pettit and wife Elaine all of Michigan; and three grandchildren, Chad Oswalt, Hailey Moxley and Timothy Oswalt, Jr. Mr. Pettit was predeceased by a son, Chad Pettit and a brother, Richard Pettit. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis. Burial will be at Beulah Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 2:30 PM Friday at the church prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Kellan Mills, Rev. Robbie Mills, Rev. Lee Franklin, Rev. Heath Wells, Wade Coates and Timothy Oswalt. Memorials may be to the Mark T. Pettit, Sr. Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 143 Old English Rd., Union.
