Martha Leverne Blitchington Grant

Mrs. Martha Leverne Blitchington Grant, age 55, wife of Larry Allen Grant, of 338 Shaman Rd., Blacksburg, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Grant was born in Union, SC on August 29, 1961 a daughter of the late Edward Blitchington and Beatrice Henderson Blitchington. She was a 1982 graduate of Burns High School in NC. Mrs. Grant was formerly employed with Robert Allen Group in Gaffney and was currently employed with Adidas in Spartanburg. Surviving in addition to her husband are a step-daughter, Sheila Depner and husband Joe of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Doshia Diane DuPree of Inman, Carrie Jones of Union and Patricia Blitchington of Union; one brother Charles Blitchington of Union; one sister-in-law Rita Miller of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Margie Brooks and one brother, Clarence Blitchington. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Wayne Cooke. Active pallbearers will be Benjamin Powles, Dion Littlejohn, Charlie Blitchington, Justin Jones, Jeffrey Burgess, and Ray Duncan. Visitation will be held 1:30 until 2:45 PM Wednesday prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Martha B. Grant Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her brother Charles Blitchington, 207 Hicks St., Union, SC 29379.
