Mrs. Martha Nickles Buckner, age 94, widow of I.M. "Buck" Buckner, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Presbyterian Home in Clinton. Mrs. Buckner was born January 10, 1925 in Hodges, SC, a daughter of the late Edward Brice Nickles and Kate Reed Nickles. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended Winthrop College. Mrs. Buckner was a retired from Clemson Extension in Union. She had been an active member of First Presbyterian Church (now Union Presbyterian Church) for 65 years, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Women, Family and Community Leader Club, Quilting Club, Social Stitching, and a longstanding member of Foster Crawford Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Busy Fingers at Presbyterian Home. Surviving are three daughters, Karen Flynn and husband Philip of Lexington, Gayle Comer and husband Leonard of Simpsonville, and Susan Lawson and husband William "Ricky" Lawson of Union; two sisters Reeda Pinson of Greenwood and Nancy May and husband Paul of Powdersville; five grandchildren, Phillip Flynn and wife Ann; Elizabeth Comer and husband David; Sean Flynn and wife LeAnna, Lauren Flynn, and James Comer and wife Lindsey; and ten great-grandchildren, Karsen, Kennedy, Hope, Wilson, and Brayden Flynn, Madison Clayton, and David, Nathan, and Collin Comer. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Tribble. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Union Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Lee Mosley and Rev. Sanders Read. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Buckner's grandsons, Philip Flynn, Sean Flynn, James Comer, David Comer, Brayden Flynn, Nathan Comer, and Collin Comer. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at Union Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Union Presbyterian Church, 101 W.
