Mrs. Martha Hope McLure, age 81, wife of John William McLure, of 1 High Ridge Road, Irmo, SC, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 12.
Mrs. McLure was born October 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Frank O. Hill and Hope Byars Hill. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School, completed her Associate of Arts degree at Winthrop College and graduated with her BA degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Mrs. McLure was the Corporate Executive Assistant with Clinton Mill Industries.
In addition to Mrs. McLure’s husband of 62 years, John, she is survived by daughters, Margaret “Meg” McLure and Jerry, Amy Odom and her husband Steve, all of Irmo and Kathleen “Kate” Langley and her husband, Rick of Knoxville, TN. Mrs. McLure is survived by sons, John William McLure IV and his wife, Susan of Daniel Island, SC and Tony Frank McLure and his wife, Tina of Yadkinville, NC. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Jenny (Brendan), Will, Jackson, Emily, Nate, Drew, Jill, Zack, Hope, Bates, Justin (Gina), and great grandchildren, Mia, Max and Roman. Mrs. McLure was predeceased by a brother, Tony Frank Hill.
Graveside memorial services conducted by Rev. Robert Scott, will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Phillipi Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends following the service at the gravesite but will have a time of visitation Saturday evening at the home, 1 High Ridge Road, Irmo, SC.
