Martha Ann Nichols

Martha Ann Nichols, age 72, of 515 Hart St., Union, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Spartanburg.

Martha was born in Union on June 17, 1953, a daughter of the late Clarence Eugene Nichols and Marjorie Young Nichols.  She was a graduate of Union High School, she earned an Associates of Arts from the University of South Carolina at Union, a Bachelor of Arts from Limestone College and a Master of Arts from Converse College.  She retired after over 30 years from the Union County School District having taught Social Studies at Sims Jr. High School her entire career.  Martha was an active member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Rev. David E. Nichols and wife Mary of Spartanburg; and three nieces, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Luscaleet, Frances Marjorie Hulme and husband Christopher and their children, Louisa, Silas, and Annie, and Martha Ann Timmons and husband Drew and their daughter, Elise.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Merritt Wentz.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Moore, Drew Timmons, Christopher Hulme, Steve Moss, Merritt Wentz, and Ronnie Lybrand.
