Martha Watts Vanderford

Mrs. Martha Watts Vanderford, age 81, of 124 Pine St., Buffalo, widow of Charles Ray Vanderford, passed away, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mrs. Vanderford was born in Union, October 29, 1939, a daughter of the late Rev. Lewis D. Watts and Gaynelle Ochiltree Watts. She was retired from United Merchants, Union Plant and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Jerri V. Varner and husband Ray of Buffalo; a sister, Nina Watts Crocker of Spartanburg; a special friend, Johnnie Elaine Heatherly of Buffalo; seven grandchildren including two special granddaughters, Joni Lawson and Tannah Willard; and sixteen great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Vanderford was predeceased by a son, Charles Eugene Vanderford, two brothers, James Lloyd Watts and Lewis D. Watts, Jr. and a sister, Nancy Juanita Watts.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2021, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Billy King. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday, at the chapel prior to the service.

The family will be at their respective homes.
