Martin Seymore

Mr. Martin Luther Seymore, age 81, husband of Hattie Seymore, of 146 Martin Rd., Union, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home. Martin was born April 5, 1938, in Newberry County. He was the son of the late Martin Luther, Sr. and Anna Rochester Seymore. Martin served his country for two years as a member of the United States Army and was retired from Sonoco Plastics. He was an active member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Martin also was a member of the Meansville-Riley Road Water Board. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hattie Grant Seymore; his grandsons, Jonathan Inman (Rebecca) and Scott Inman (Angela); a son-in-law, Mark Inman all of Union, a sister-in-law, Geraldine Seymore of Whitmire, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Inman; sisters, Genola Alexander and Minnie Lou Shields; and a brother, Russell Seymore. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Cunningham. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leonard Smith, Johnny Martin, Randy Wilburn, James Inabinet, Tony Collier, and Andy Bailey. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2019 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family will be at the home, 146 Martin Rd., Union, SC 29379.
