Marvin C. Babb

Mr. Marvin Carl Babb, age 59 of 401 Monarch Hwy., Union, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Union Medical Center. Mr. Babb was born in Union, February 26, 1958, a son of Carolyn Vinson Austin and James Carl Babb both of Union. He was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing and was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church. Mr. Babb was also a member of the Buffalo Redmen Lodge, the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Union Co. Minutemen Rescue Team. Surviving in addition to his mother and father are his step-mother, Lynn Babb; two sisters, Kelly Austin Shetley and husband Earl, and Angie Duncan and husband Robin all of Union; special friends, Bobby Gene Quinn, Harold Dean Quinn and Larry Vinson all of Union and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles including a special aunt, Kathy Babb Stokes of Union. Mr. Babb was predeceased by a sister, Jackie Lynn Price, his maternal grandparents, Jim and Agatha Vinson and his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Lillie Mae Babb. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Tanglewood Baptist Church conducted by Brother Charles Hutcheson and Rev. Dr. Aulbrey Calvert. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church prior to the services and also at the cemetery following the burial. The family will be at the home of his sisters, Kelly and Earl Shetley, 130 Ben Black Rd., Union and Angie and Robin Duncan, 317 Westminister Circle, Union.
