Mary Sue Bailey

August 27, 2016 Mrs. Mary Sue Owenby Bailey, age 84, formerly of Pinedale Avenue, Union, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at The Cottages of Brushy Creek, Greer, SC. She was the widow of Preston F. Bailey, Jr. Mrs. Bailey was born in Blairsville, GA June 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Grady D. Owenby and Flora Cope Owenby. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and was formerly a member of Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey retired from Enoree Mills and was formerly employed with United Merchants- Union. Surviving are two daughters: Judith B. Davis and husband Robert of Leesburg, VA and Cindy Robbins and husband Rex of Greer; a son, Preston F. Bailey, III and wife Cynthia of Boiling Springs; two sisters: Alice Harris of Union and Dorothy Crocker of Buffalo; six grandchildren: Jonathan Robbins and wife Sara of Elon, NC; Matthew Robbins and wife Lauren of Charlotte, NC; Timothy Robbins and wife Nicole of Greer; Maura Bailey of Columbia,; Christopher Davis and wife Lora of Knoxville, TN and Daniel Davis and wife Suzanne of Albuquerque, New Mexico and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bailey was predeceased by a sister and seven brothers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, S.C. Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621. The family will be at their respective homes.
