Mary Lee (Blitchington) Lawson

Mary Lee Lawson, was ushered into the arms of God Tuesday October 11, 2022 at 9:30 in the morning.  She has been an active member in Christ since 1995, beloved by many in her family, friends, and community.  She never met a stranger and fully embodied the belief of "see a need, fill a need."  There are not enough words to display the life she led, but the impact she had is evident by the many lives she touched and the differences she made in them.

Mary was born June 25, 1947, the daughter of the late Valerie Varner Blitchington and Jesse Blitchington, Sr., and is predeceased by the love of her life, Wendell Lawson of 52 years and is survived by her brother Jesse Blitchington, Jr. of Union; daughter-in-love, Heather (Jack) Higgins of Virginia; and fur baby Bud; along with numerous aunts and cousins of various locations.

Services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM given by the Reverends Jeff Dean and Shannon Faulkner at Fairview Baptist Church in Union.  Pallbearers are Ronnie Gossett, Mike Bennett, Russell Steen, Steve Beheler, "Duck" Gossett, Don Raye Shetley, and Jason Bishop.  Remembrance will be held before the service with burial to follow afterward at Union Memorial Gardens.
