Mary Jenell Knox

May 14, 2016 Ms. Mary Jenell Knox, age 78, of 2610 Lockhart Hwy, Union, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital, Columbia, SC. Ms. Knox was born in Union, SC on March 14, 1938 a daughter of the late Cecil T. Knox and Mattie Clary Knox. She was retired from Medical Records at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Ms. Knox was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist where she was a member of the Ola Jean Kelly Sunday School Class and the Mon Aetna Baptist Church Senior Adult Breakfast Group. Surviving are a sister, Sadie Inman; a brother, Tommy F. Knox; a niece, Melinda Littlejohn and husband Jeff; two nephews, Tommy Knox II and wife Jennie and Bruce Inman and wife Melissa all of Union; a number of special great nieces and nephews; special friends Pearl Crocker, Jane Ledford, and Elizabeth Revels; and special caregivers, Laura "Noots" Moss and Mary Price. She was predeceased by one sister, Pansy "Pat" Knox and two brothers, Eldridge T. "Earlybird" Knox and Donald A. "Snort" Knox. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Bob Cato. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Knox, II, Tommy "Tate" Knox, III, Lee Littlejohn, Bruce W. Inman, Otis Davis, and William Jolly. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Pearl Crocker, Jane Ledford, Elizabeth Revels, the Mon Aetna Baptist Church Senior Adult Breakfast Group, Tony Turner, Jeff Benfield, Larry Morris, Alex Freeman, William Earl Sprouse, Roger Knox, John Wayne Brandon, and Keith Candler. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family wishes to extend a special "Thank you" to Gentiva Home Health for the love and care Ms. Knox received.
