Mary Lancaster

Mary Hackler Lancaster, age 66 of Union, SC, wife of Dean Lancaster, joined her Lord and Savior in Paradise on August 21, 2022.  She was born to Bruce Martin and Reba Sawyer in Conway SC on May 14, 1956. After her father's passing, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Roy Sawyer.

She was a devout Christian, placing all her faith and trust in Jesus with a passion to spread His word.  She was first a homemaker, raising her children full time and then a licensed cosmetologist for 30 years. After her retirement, she devoted herself to caring for her grandchildren.  She took care of them daily offering immense love, wisdom, instilling upon them the love of Jesus, doing homework, making after school meals, teaching them how to put together puzzles, paint, plant flowers and so very much more.

Left to treasure her life are a son, Travis Hackler and wife Misty, a daughter Courtney Sanford and husband Terry and five grandchildren, Carter Hackler, Katlyn Sanford, Chloe Sanford, Gabriel Sanford and Nathaniel Sanford. A sister, Judi Lee and two brothers, Bruce Martin Jr and Joseph Soles, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Roger Hackler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Melvin Shelton and Rev. Chad Ponder. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be O'Travis Tyler, Tyler Hart, Carter Hackler, Jason Lancaster, Terry Sanford and Travis Hackler.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Courtney and Terry Sanford, 106 Country Rd., Union.
