Mary Joyce Lunsford

Mrs. Mary Joyce Dehart Lunsford, age 84 of 124 Dutchman Creek Rd., Buffalo, widow of Floyd Ray Lunsford, passed away Monday, October17, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Lunsford was born in Union, April 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Walter Dehart and the late Ruby Wilbanks Holcombe and L.D. Holcombe. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired as a Greeter at Wal-Mart. Mrs. Lunsford was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and loved meeting and talking to people. She loved going to her grandson's ballgames and watching them play.

Surviving are a son, Donnie Lunsford and wife Lori of Pauline; a daughter, Emily Lunsford of Buffalo; two sisters, Frances Hall (Maston) of Union and Beth Chellew (Candace) of Columbia; a stepsister, Joretta Hyatt of Union; a sister-in-law, Edith Lawson (Wayne) of Pauline; three grandsons, Cameron "Tank" Lunsford, Wyatt Lunsford and Nicholas Lunsford and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Aaron Lawson. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Vaughan.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to her caregivers, Betsy Krena, Jean Millwood, Mary Ann Harris, Donna Lugo, Amanda Weaver and Nancy Hill, along with the staff and nurses of Agape Hospice especially Ann Martin and Jamie Duncan for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Lunsford during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2022, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Melvin Shelton and Chaplain Darnell Durrah. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Friday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Gerald Lawson, Phillip Lawson, Wyatt Lunsford, Nicholas Lunsford, Hutch Hall and Aaron Lawson.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Homebound Committee, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, SC 29321.

The family will be at the home, 124 Dutchman Creek Rd., Buffalo.
