January 7, 2016 Mrs. Mary McGlothan Taft, age 64, of 125 Dana Tara Lane, Buffalo, widow of Ken Taft, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Taft was born in Union, July 26, 1951, a daughter of the late Jack and Ethel Southerland McGlothan. She was formerly employed with Conso Products and was currently working as a caregiver. Mrs. Taft was of the Church of God faith. Surviving are a daughter, Sandy Williams of Laurens; two sisters, Joyce Dawkins of Jonesville and Nancy Phillips of Union, a granddaughter, Brittni Lawson of the home; a grandson Tyler Lawson and fiancée Cody Horne of Jonesville; special friends, Ken Peake of Asheville, NC, Mary Edwards of Union, Rita Smith and Janet Bogan both of Jonesville. Mrs. Taft was predeceased by three sisters, Brenda Carter, Libby Gardin, Wanda McDermott. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Roger Byrd. Active pallbearers will be Justin Bragg, Douglas Boler and Sam Phillips. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 2:45 PM Sunday at the Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Mary M. Taft Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 125 Dana Tara Lane, Buffalo.
