Mary Alice W. Ledford

August 8, 2018 Mrs. Mary Alice Wofford Ledford, age 85, formerly of Union and Gaffney, widow of G.T. Ledford, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Inverness at Spartanburg. Mrs. Ledford was born in Wilkinsville, Cherokee Co., SC, November 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Billy E. and Bessie Peeler Wofford. She the former owner and operator of Duncan Road Produce in Union and was later employed with Mark's Garden Center in Spartanburg. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Abingdon Creek Baptists Church. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Knox and husband Walter of Union; three sons, Billy Ledford and wife Susan of Union, Mark Ledford and wife Cheryl of Glenn Springs and Randy Ledford and wife Linda of Union; a sister, Lillian Stroupe of Gaffney; six grandchildren: Carol Brunson, Andrea Thompson, Elizabeth Birch and husband Kevin, Jameson Knox and wife Cindy, Jennifer Ledford and Brittany Ledford; five great-grandchildren: Aubrey Thompson, Alyssa Thompson, Kyptin Ledford, Paisley Knox and Elaina Knox. Mrs. Ledford was predeceased by a daughter, Becky Roark and a sister, Clara Howard. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 10, 2018 at Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Bill Jones. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday in the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Crescent Hospice, 839 Main St., Buffalo, SC 29321. The family is at their respective homes.
