Matthew David Arnold

Matthew David Arnold, age 45 of 1932 Whitmire Hwy., Union, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at Union Medical Center.

Matthew was born in Spartanburg, September 30, 1980, a son of Mary Estes Arnold and the late David M. Arnold. He attended Union High School and was formerly employed in the textile industry. Matthew loved sports and was an outstanding baseball player with Dixie Youth and Dixie Boys Leagues. He was an avid fan of Florida State and the Boston Celtics. Matthew was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughters, Aniyah Horne and Bella Arnold both of Union; a brother, Nathan Arnold of Charlotte, NC, aunts and uncles, Susan Estes Marsh and husband Doug of Cheraw and Jimmy Estes and wife Kris of Spartanburg; cousins, Michelle and Rich Moore and Michael and Mari Bumgarner all of Whitmire; and special aunts and uncles, Debbie and Kenny Lominack and Emily and Jeff Cannon all of Union.

A memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.
