Matthew Charles “Matt” Hyatt, age 42, of Inman, passed away Wednesday October 28, 2026 at his home.

Matt was born in Union, April 27, 1984, a son of the late Robert E. “Bobby” Hyatt and Rebecca Gibson “Becky” Hyatt. He was a graduate of Union High School and received a bachelors degree from Charleston Southern. Matt was a chef at The Wreck restaurant in Charleston for many years and truly loved living in that area. He loved cooking and enjoyed doing yard work. He was also a big fan of Comic-Con.

Matt is survived by two brothers, Robert E. “Bob” Hyatt and wife Aimee of Easley and Thad Hyatt of Buffalo; three nieces, Olivia, Ava, and Emma Hyatt; one nephew, Nolan Hyatt; aunts and uncles, Steve and Carolyn Gibson, Eddie and Bonnie Gibson all of Union; Pam Shetley of Inman and Cindi Kendrick of Buffalo and numerous cousins.

A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Matt’s life will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Sunday, November 1, 2026 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
