Mattie R. Turner

Mrs. Mattie Robinson Turner, age 86, wife of Robert M. "Bobby" Turner, Sr. of 113 Philippi Church Rd., Union, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Turner was born in Union, October 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Ester Robinson, Sr. and Cora Boulware Robinson. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and had retired from The Village Hut clothing store. After retirement, Mrs. Turner ran a small day care in her home. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for a number of years and was a member of the choir.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Michelle T. Alexander and husband Carrol of Union; a son, Robert M. "Robbie" Turner, Jr. and wife Traci of Boiling Springs; five grandchildren, Kasie A. Sanders and husband Ethan, Bryson Alexander, Cody Alexander, Justin Turner and wife Shannon, and Troy Turner and wife Emilee; seven great-grandchildren, Mattie Faith Sanders, Ethan Sanders, Jr., Hampton Sanders, Cali Alexander, Kenley Ann Turner, Kollins Faith Turner, Eli Dudley and soon to arrive, Rhett Evan Turner; a brother, Olin D. Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Ruby Cudd, Sara Rice, Lucille Grand and Vivian Adams, and six brothers, Howard, Clyde, Dennis, Raymond, Junior, and Eddie.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Turner, Troy Turner, Bryson Alexander, Cody Alexander, Ethan Sanders and Dean Robinson. Mrs. Turner's nephews will serve as the honorary escort.
