Medora Elizabeth Johns

Miss Medora Elizabeth "Lib" Johns, age 97, of 1817 Jonesville Highway, Union passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center. Miss Johns was born in Union, SC on March 12, 1918 a daughter of the late Rufus Norman Johns and Cora Lancaster Johns. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from Eagle Grocery Company. Miss Johns was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Treasurer for 62 years and was a member of Louise Willard Circle for many years. Libby as her nieces and nephews called her, lived in the home of her brother Rufus Wagner and Dorothy Johns and was a loving part of their life. Surviving are a niece Barbara J. Baber and husband Wayne of Union; two nephews, Robert Johns of Union and Johnny Johns of Atlanta, GA; three great nephews, Jeremy Johns, Matthew Johns, and Nicholas Johns; and nine great-great nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight. Burial will follow at Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tim Harrison, Ricky Harris, Billy Lawson, Bruce Sparks, Chuck Malone, Tommy Whitesides, and Chan Jolly. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Re-Christ Ministries, PO Box 922518, Norcross, GA 30092. The family is at the home of her niece, Barbara and Wayne Baber 124 Toney Rd., Union, SC 29379.
